That’s the matter of fact that healthy diet is a way to be healthy and energetic and live a long life. This is the reason why our diet should be various and our food healthy and products of high quality. By the way, this is the point of view not only of medical institutions but of religion too. Every religion pays special attention to the culture of healthy diet. Islam is not an exception, of course. It has got a special list of rules for proper cooking. It is called “Halal” that can be translated as “allowed, granted”. For all Muslims “halal” means that all the products are produced in accordance with Muslim traditions, they don’t contain any components that are prohibited for Muslims and are also clear products of “spiritual origin”.
Nowadays “halal” products are popular not only among Muslims. It is pity that for a majority of people “halal” is associated only with meat products but this is wrong. In fact, in confectionary products you can find even more prohibited ingredients. The management body of “Barakat” Ltd. company has been working in close cooperation with Food Institute of Customers’ Control on the question of healthy diet and is aware how difficult it is to produce products that will meet the requirements of “halal” quality, especially it is true about production of confectionary goods. According to the norms of “halal” products, they can’t contain any fat or chemical ingredients if they are not of halal origin. “Barakat” Ltd has been producing halal meat products for more than 15 years on the territory of Russia and other countries. It took part in many food exhibitions and took prizes for its high-quality delicious and healthy products. Since May 2011 “Barakat” Ltd. has started producing “halal” confectionery goods. All of them contain only natural products of highest quality, such as “Zeytun” olive oil, seeds and oil of black thyme, honey, milk, butter, walnuts, prunes, dried apricots, dates and others.
Islam is a religion of purity, healthy spirit and mind. Our religion preaches both soul and body purity. We quite often buy products not paying any attention to what they are made from and not taking into account the fact that they may contain components that are harmful and even dangerous for our health. These days food producers use such substances and dyers that can cause a number of illnesses.
In connection with this information we kindly ask you to pay your attention to the list of products that are prohibited for Muslims. You can find these indications on the labeling.
E-120: carminic acid that is extracted from coccus insects
E-124: Red coccus (insects)
E-160: Pigment dying stuff of any animal or vegetable origin
E-236: Ant acid (extracted from ant body)
E-237: Ant-acid Sodium (kind of natrium)
E-238: Ant-acid Calcium (kind of Calcium)
E-334: Vine acid (spirit, wine). Organic product that can be a natural part of some products. When produced by industrial method it is extracted from waste products (sediment that is called a tartar that is processed by lime and sulphuric acid)
E-335: Tartar of Natrium (ether of tartar-natrium acid)
E-336: Bi-tartar of Potassium (sediment of tartar formed in wine)
E-337: Bi-tartar of natrium and potassium
E-422: Glycerin
E-471: Mono and diglycerides of fat acids
E-472: Compound ether of vinegar acid, lactic acid, lemon acid, vine acid. Mono and di-pyruvic of vine acid, mono and diglycerides of fat acids
E-472C: Compound lemon-acid ether of mono and diglyceride fat acids
E-477: Mono-ether of propylene glycol of fat food acids.
Ethanol. Spirit.
Food Gelatin: it is produced from dried animal bones (used in Bavarian cream, whipped cream, jelly, nougat, chewing guns).
Red Carmine: an extract from coccus insect.
It is not recommended to consume products which include margarines with animal fat origin (not lactic).
